A Rockmart woman was jailed on a trio of obstruction charges and a warrant after she tried to resist Polk County Sheriffs deputies when they sought to place her in cuffs for the warrant.
Zoriah Erin McCrae, 24, of a Rockmart address, was arrested at her residence after she initially told deputies her name but a different age and no warrants came back, but then she was able to produce her license and the warrant they sought her for did come up in the GCIC system for her arrest.
As the deputies sought to put her in handcuffs, McCrae pulled away and was upset about the news she was being detained. They tried three times to get McCrae to cooperate before another deputy arrived to help, pulling her arms free and walking away from deputies in her attempt to avoid incarceration.
She struggled with deputies who eventually got her into the back of their patrol vehicle, but not before she pulled a trio of deputies to the ground by going limp.
Sheriff’s Office reports on the arrest noted that when she arrived at the Polk County Jail, McCrae began screaming and became aggressive with jail staff. They placed her in a restraint chair and booked her into custody on the felony probation violation warrant, and three misdemeanor counts of obstruction of law enforcement officers.
McCrae remained in custody as of this posting on a $3,000 bond.
