A pedestrian crossing Highway 278 this morning heading back to TipTop Poultry was struck and killed by a SUV heading westbound, according to the Rockmart Police Department.
No name has yet been released pending notification of the next of kin of the individual by the Polk County Coroners Office.
According to Rockmart Police Assistant Chief Jonathan Fuller, the pedestrian was struck at 7:11 a.m. this morning when crossing Highway 278 at Prospect Road back toward TipTop Poultry by a Ford Expedition.
