Police: Buchanan man tried to give false name to officers, jailed on warrants and other charges

A Buchanan man remained in the Polk County Jail with a bond set after he told officers during a traffic stop that he was another man, but a mugshot sent to officers proved otherwise.

Polk County Police arrested Jessie Shane Trussell, 28, of 39 Spearman Road, Buchanan, was jailed on multiple misdemeanors and a felony bench warrant charge following the traffic stop at Youngs Farm Road and Highway 27 South on November 6 at 10:33 p.m.

Trussell and another woman in a 1998 Infiniti QX4 SUV were stopped because the SUV didn’t have a tag.

Reports stated that Trussell initially told officers his name was Dylan Bailey and that he had just purchased the SUV and handed over the bill of sale. When officers further investigated, they found the mugshot for Bailey didn’t match Trussell’s face. They got a mugshot from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office to confirm his identity, then learned Trussell faced warrants in Gordon and Polk Counties.

Gordon County didn’t request a hold for him, but Polk County did he was taken into custody by Polk County Police without further incident.

He was charged with misdemeanors for giving false name, address, or birthdate to law enforcement officers, no license on person, no insurance, disorderly conduct and battery. He also was being held on a felony bench warrant.

Trussell remained in jail on a $4,680 bond.
