POLICE: Man found with marijuana, THC Wax after window tint stop

Mason Phillip Garman

A man who was pulled over for a window tint violation was found to have drugs in the car, according to Polk County Police conducting the stop over the weekend.

Officers arrested Mason Phillip Garman, 34, of a Lindale address early on Sunday morning, March 9, when he was stopped just at midnight by officers on Colquitt Road.

Per the report, police stopped him when his 2014 Ford Taurus appeared to have a window tint darker than was allowed by law, registering at 10%. Due to area of Colquitt Road having lower than normal cell coverage, police were putting in a manual citation and called for a K-9 officer to give the car a sniff.

The dog alerted to a scent of some kind in the car, and police undertook a search, eventually getting into the locked glove box when Garman turned over the keys and found drugs inside.

Included in the inventory of what officers found included an ounce of marijuana, a grinder and an amount of THC Wax.

Garman told police he got the THC Wax from Ohio when asked.

PCPD charged Garman with felonies for possession of marijuana over an ounce and possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, along with misdemeanors for possession and use of drug-related objects and the window tint violation.

Garman was still in custody at the jail as of this posting awaiting bond to be set.
