POLICE: Man found with meth in glove box following traffic stop arrest

David Joseph Loveless

Polk County Police arrested a man after he was stopped for driving on a suspended license and without insurance and ultimately was found in possession of methamphetamine, according to a report.

An officer stopped David Joseph Loveless, 53, of a Cedartown address, after he was pulled over on Friday morning, September 15 around 2 a.m. on Highway 27 near Lee’s Chapel Road for a suspended license and no valid insurance.

The report stated that Loveless had his license suspended due to child support obligations, but that he had paid them off. However Loveless had not yet paid for the reinstatement, and thus his license was still not valid. He also showed police an expired insurance card.

Due to the issues with his license and the insurance, he was taken into custody without incident.

While searching the car to make an inventory before being towed away, police searched the glove box and found a bag of methamphetamine.

Per the report, he was charged with a felony for the meth possession, and misdemeanors for the driving on a suspended license, no insurance, and no operating brake light/signals.

He remained in custody as of this posting on a $5,200 bond.
