A Cedartown man was jailed on multiple charges following a traffic stop where he was found with drugs and a stolen gun, according to Polk County Police reports.
Timothy Neshaun Beeman, 23, of a Cedartown address, was arrested by Polk County Police during the Thursday evening traffic stop at the intersection at North Main Street and Plantation Avenue in Cedartown.
Per the report, Beeman was initially stopped for a tag light being out at 9:40 p.m., and asked officers if he could show them a “picture of his license” since he didn’t have it available on him at the time. He reached between his seat while he told officers that his phone had fallen between the center console.
He didn’t have his license for good reason, since Beeman’s license was suspended, and he had a warrant out for his arrest in Haralson County.
Beeman was taken into custody without incident, and a search was undertaken of his car. They found marijuana that he had spilled in the crack between the seat and center console, and told officers that a handgun was in the glove box, and police found a Ruger 5.7 along with a holster in the floorboard.
Police tracked the serial number and found it was stolen out of East Point, Georgia. They also found a large vacuum-sealed bag that was empty but contained a “large amount of small plastic bags within it” that smelled of marijuana as well.
Beeman’s car was turned over to his mother at the scene. He was taken to the Polk County Jail without further incident.
Beeman remained in the Polk County Jail as of this posting on a $20,000 bond on felony and misdemeanor charges. Those included felony theft by receiving stolen property, tampering with evidence and possession of firearm or knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies. He also faces a misdemeanor tampering with evidence charge, along with possession of marijuana, expired registration, tag lights required, and driving while license suspended or revoked.
