A Hiram man remains in the Polk County Jail on rape and two other charges stemming from a late July incident, according to the Polk County Police.

Details were light about the booking of Robert Allen O’Brien, 20, of 250 Pierce Road, Hiram, but he was being held on a trio of charges following a report being made by the victim at a hospital on July 29, 2021.

The 19-year-old victim from the Cedartown area was able to provide police with physical evidence of the crime, per the report. The Polk County Police Criminal Investigation Division has been handling the investigation into the incident since.

The incident was reported to have taken place at a Grady Road residence in Rockmart.

O’Brien remained in jail on two felony charges of rape and aggravated assault and a misdemeanor charge of sexual battery. He was being held without a bond being set after being jailed on Monday.
