
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation reports that a shooting incident that saw a Cedartown Police Officer wounded on Thanksgiving Day by his spouse remains under investigation.
The GBI did not have any further details of the shooting to report at this time.
Several sources that have knowledge of the incident reported that Camron Leigh Wood of an Essex Street address in Cedartown was taken into custody on a felony aggravated assault charge on Thursday. Per information from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office inmate search online, Wood remained in jail without any bond set as of this report.
Per Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome, the officer who was wounded in the incident is expected to make a full recovery.
