POLICE: Public asked for help in locating missing Cedartown woman

Local police are asking for the public’s help in finding a woman who was last known to be near the Polk County line, and hasn’t been seen since.

Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome shared this afternoon details that he and Georgia Bureau of Investigation about Monisha Sharae Leath, 32, who was last known location was around 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 24 in the area around the Floyd and Polk County lines.

Since then, no one has been able to determine her whereabouts, and the GBI is asking for the public to be on the lookout for Leath and immediately call 1-800-597-8477 (TIPS), or report it anonymously at this GBI reporting link.

Leath is described in the above flyer being distributed by local and state law enforcement as a black female, approximately 5-foot-7 and 180 pounds.

She has short brown hair, her right nostril is pierced and she has a tattoo on her left hand.

Newsome said in follow-up information that investigators believe foul play is involved in the case, but have no immediate evidence to provide any additional substantial information at this time.

Police are investigating her disappearance – since Thursday afternoon – on the basis of foul play being involved since “no one has seen or heard from her” in the past 48 hours.

Check back for additional details as they become available.
