POLICE: Two jailed after glasses case with meth, paraphernalia found after argument

A pair were arrested on Sunday evening by Polk County Police after officers found methamphetamine and paraphernalia on the ground next to them following a domestic altercation call, according to reports.

Police arrested David Ronnie Jay, 54, and Maria Lee Crocker, 43, both of Cedartown addresses, were arrested at a Cherokee Road residence after 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 26. Officers arrived at the house after a 911 call was made over a domestic altercation.

When police began to question the pair, they learned the argument was over a misplaced set of car keys. A search of Crocker’s purse was conducted to find the keys, and while that happened the arresting officer noticed a glasses case on the ground.

No one would claim it as theirs, so the officer looked inside and found suspected methamphetamine, used syringes and a glass pipe.

Both claimed again the bag didn’t belong to them after being questioned by police, so the officer charged both with felony possession of methamphetamine.

Jay and Crocker both remained in custody as of this posting without bond set on the single felony charge for each.
