Update:
Rockmart Police has confirmed that a woman who was injured in an afternoon shooting in Rockmart died this evening.
Officials said the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is now taking over the case, per Rockmart Police. Agents with the GBI are still questioning three suspects who were detained in the incident earlier this afternoon.
The Polk County Coroner’s Office is not releasing the name of the victim until all of her next of kin are notified of her death.

Rockmart Police have three suspects in custody who are being questioned by Detectives after a woman was injured in a shooting incident this afternoon, per officials.
Police reported a 38-year-old woman on Hunter Street near Forrest Avenue around 1:30 p.m. was injured by a single gunshot wound.
The woman – whose name officials were not yet releasing – was transported to a Rome-area medical center for treatment, where she was at this time.
Rockmart Police arrested the three suspects afterward, but no one has been charged.
