A woman told police that she was being held against her will because her car wasn’t working, and instead of being able to leave she was escorted to jail on misdemeanor charges.
Polk County Police arrested Stacy Lynn Wilson, 54, of a Rockmart-area address, was booked into custody on Wednesday night, January 15 after officers responded to a residence on Old Collard Valley Road based on a report to 911 that Wilson stated she was being “held hostage.”
When police arrived on scene, several officers instead found Wilson was well and in the process of moving out, and another resident who had done nothing wrong at all. Officers compiling the report from Wednesday night noted that they had trouble understanding Wilson’s story.
Per the report, they pointedly asked Wilson if she ever was under duress “but she kept using the expression “she felt like she was being kept hostage” due to her car not working and having no where to go.”
They took Wilson into custody and left her vehicle with the rest of her possessions in the driveway before she was carried onward to the Polk County Jail and charged with misdemeanors for criminal trespass and unlawful conduct during 911 call by using obscene/vulgar/profane language to intimidate/harass 911 officer.
Wilson remained in custody on the misdemeanor charges on a $2,000 bond.
