Bundle up and grab a bell – or maybe even an app for your phone if you have to – and head outside at 6 p.m. to take part in the Ring the Bell Day event coming up around Polk County.

The first-ever holiday event proposed by Jannah Sorrell and given backing by the cities of Aragon, Cedartown and Rockmart in recent weeks, the call for going outside to help Santa Claus boost his magic on Christmas-time with the ringing of bells for two minutes is coming up in just a few hours.

Make sure to bundle up with chilly temperatures expected for the rest of the night, and the potential for snowfall after some wintry mix passed through Polk County in recent hours.

Tonight’s bell-ringing event is a tradition that Sorrell would like to see become an annual tradition in Polk County, one that she believes her children and grandchildren will continue in years to come.
