This Friday, the public is invited to come out and enjoy a party in a first-ever Halloween event for a local shop.

Rockin Rooster & Happy Hen is hosting Boos and Brews on Friday, providing a fun evening for all and the chance to win a prize in a costume contest.

Store owner Helen Riley is inviting the community to come to take part from 4 to 8 p.m. and participate in Boos and Brews by enjoying Piper & Leaf tea for tasting, a complimentary goody bag for each child, and the winner of the Adult Costume Contest can take home a gift as well.

The event will also feature light refreshments for participants to enjoy, and Riley will be keeping the store open and offering discounts on items as well.

Rockin Rooster is located at 401 N Piedmont Ave., Rockmart. Hours are Monday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
