Update:
A Cedartown High School coach was undergoing brain surgery this evening after an accident caused head trauma this afternoon, according to school officials and a Facebook posting from his wife.
Readers have noted that Kari Morse, wife of Coach Stuart Morse, asked for prayers for her husband tonight after he was sent by Lifeflight to Kennestone Hospital in Marietta in an effort to repair injuries sustained when he was hit in the head by an errant discus.
“I know God has him,” she posted this evening.
Here’s the whole post:

If everyone could please please pray for Stuart, my husband. He got hit in the head and was life flighted. They are about to perform surgery to repair his skull with plates and fix some of the brain damage. Just please pray! I know God has him.
PSD Superintendent Dr. Katie Thomas confirmed earlier in the evening that a coach was hit in the head, but had not confirmed which coach at the time.
Polk Today has reached out to Dr. Thomas for additional updates. Check back for more as they become available.
Editor’s note: We do encourage our readers to offer their thoughts and prayers to the Morse family during this time. – KtE
