
A Cedartown man was jailed early Sunday morning following an attempt to get away from police, but was ultimately caught and found with drugs and cash according to Polk County Police information.
Polk County Police arrested Mallory Dion McClarity, 55, of an Cedartown address on around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 4, after he was spotted in a 2010 Honda Insight by officers.
Police attempted to stop McClarity in the area of South Main Street and Canal Street, but he fled.
Full details of the incident weren’t immediately available in the report made over the weekend.
However officers did note within the initial report that McClarity was found 3 ounces of cocaine in one ounce bags for sale, along with two ounces of marijuana packaged for sale during the incident.
They also found more than $1,200 in cash, the report stated.
McClarity was denied bond as of this posting on Monday.
He remained in custody at the Polk County Jail on felony charges including manufacture/possess etc. controlled substance or counterfeit substance, or marijuana, near a park/housing project; fleeing/attempting to elude police; three counts of aggravated assault; and possession of cocaine, trafficking in cocaine, illegal drugs, marijuana or methamphetamine.
Misdemeanor charges included reckless driving, failure to use signal, failure to maintain lane and failure to stop for stop sign.
