REPORT: Driveway speeder jailed after lewd display for disorderly conduct

Robert Kyle Jones

A Cedartown man was booked on Thursday evening after officers got a complaint about his lewd display following a dispute over speeding in a shared driveway, according to Polk County Police reports.

Robert Kyle Jones, 38, of a Cedartown address, was jailed on Thursday, May 30, after a complaint about his behavior was made by a neighbor with a shared driveway following an argument.

Per the report, police were called out to a Wilson Road address around 8:20 p.m. over a man who cussed and made obscene gestures during an argument over speeding in a shared driveway. Jones was accused of having sped up the shared driveway, and when the complainant went outside to yell at Jones to slow down, Jones came back down and began an argument.

Jones was accused of grabbing himself in a lewd way and cussing at the complainant while a 10 year old was inside the house. Jones was also alleged to be holding a shotgun, but didn’t threaten to use it.

Reports stated that Jones defended his actions when questioned by officers claiming he was being harassed, and did admit that “he did cuss (a lot)” and because he admitted the use of the language in public, officers arrested him for disorderly conduct.

He was taken to the Polk County Jail without incident on the single charge of disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. He was released on a $500 bond.
