A traffic stop and suspected DUI ended with multiple charges for a Rockmart-area woman found to be under the influence behind the wheel, and had drugs in her vehicle as well according to Polk County Police reports.
Officers arrested Mallory Patricia Jones, 40, of a Rockmart-area address in the early morning hours of Saturday, February 15, 2025 following the DUI stop at Highway 278 and Substation Road.
Per the report, an officer as the stop began watched as an item was thrown out the window that turned out to be a “shooters”-sized vodka bottle. Jones was believed to be impaired due to the odor of alcohol and marijuana coming from her at the time.
Jones agreed to field sobriety tests, and a breath sample as well during the traffic stop and was found to be impaired. Police did not include what her breath sample resulted in for a blood alcohol level at the time. Jones refused to give police a blood sample for chemical testing.
During a search of her vehicle before it was towed, officers found two hydrocodone pills and a small amount of marijuana.
Police ultimately charged Jones with a felony for possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, along with misdemeanors for possession of marijuana less than an ounce, a DUI (combination of A1 – A5) littering, failure to maintain lane, failure to dim headlights, an open container violation and drugs not in original container.
She remained in the Polk County Jail with a $15,000 bond set for her release.
