UPDATE:

After getting to speak with additional law enforcement on the scene, good news: intersection is not blocked at 278 and 113, but they were able to stop the vehicle being pursued just east of where the two highways meet.

Georgia State Patrol has been sought for additional information. Check back when available.

The intersection of Highway 113 and Highway 278 is blocked after the Georgia State Patrol brought a chase to an end this afternoon in Rockmart, according to law enforcement officials.

Rockmart Police are working the scene with GSP, and state patrolmen are investigating the accident following a pursuit that was reported to have begun in Paulding County.

Drivers should avoid the area if at all possible, utilizing detours around the scene via Marquette Road/Hwy 101 back to Hwy 278, or utilizing Atlanta Highway to Piedmont Avenue through the downtown Rockmart area.
