A Cedartown business owner was jailed and bond had not yet been set on a felony and misdemeanor charge after he was booked into custody by the Polk County Sheriffs Office on Wednesday, according to reports.
Polk County Police reports alleged that Christopher Jesse Beeler, 51, of a Cedartown address, was taken into custody by the Polk County Sheriffs Office on warrants on Wednesday morning for a felony charge of terroristic threats and acts and a misdemeanor charge of simple battery – family violence.
The owner of Beeler Insurance was charged after the victim told Polk County Police that Beeler threatened her over a shared $3,000 in cash. The report alleged that Beeler took the cash and locked it in his office during an argument over the money, and that he wasn’t “‘afraid to take a ride’ with the police over the issue.”
The victim audio recorded Beeler during the altercation and played it for officers, who recorded it with their bodycams as evidence.
Police initially sought Beeler out on Tuesday afternoon, November 14, over the incident but he wasn’t found at the time. Officers took warrants out for his arrest following that.
Beeler remained in custody as of this posting without bond set waiting to see a judge on the matter.
