A Cedartown-area man faced a trio of misdemeanor charges after an alcohol-fueled argument was the cause of his firing a gun into the air and trashing a room at a Meadow Lakes Boulevard residence on Leap Day.
Per a Polk County Police report, Zi Xian Sun, 39, of a Cedartown address, was arrested by an officer after midnight on Thursday, February 29, 2024 on charges of simple battery under the family violence act, criminal trespass and reckless conduct after the incident occurred.
Reports stated that Sun got into an argument with the victim over money after drinking, and during the argument he “started breaking things and shot a firearm in the air.”
Police noted that when speaking with the victim, the bedroom they were in was “trashed, as if someone was throwing things around and there (were) several items broken.”
When officers approached Sun, he refused to give any information about the incident and never told officers where the gun was being hidden.
He went into custody without further incident, and was later released from the Polk County Jail with no bond amount listed for the charges after only a single day.
