A Rockmart man was jailed on Thursday evening following a domestic violence incident in Aragon, according to Polk County Police reports.

Officers were called out to Portland Circle in Aragon and found Shannon Lamar Hayes, 45, of a Rockmart address, along with a woman and two other men in the front yard on August 3 around 6:45 p.m.

Per the report, everyone was questioned separately, and then officers determined based on evidence presented to take Hayes into custody on misdemeanor charges.

No additional information about the incident was in the report at this time.

Police charged Hayes with misdemeanors for battery, simple assault and cruelty to children.

He was later released on a $3,000 bond.
