
A Cedartown man was jailed on domestic charges following a dispute at a Rockmart-area Dollar General over the weekend, according to Polk County Police reports.
Benjamin Lee Chubb Jr., 30, of a Cedartown address, was taken into custody by Polk County Police on Saturday, June 12 around the lunch hour.
He remains in the Polk County Jail currently on felony charges of kidnapping and cruelty to children in the first degree, along with misdemeanor charges of cruelty to children in the third degree, simple assault and obstructing or hindering persons making emergency telephone call during the incident.
According to Polk County Police reports, Chubb was jailed after police responded to the Dollar General at the intersection with McCowan Road and Cedartown Highway to a “heated domestic.”
Reports did not include additional details at this time, but the officer responding to the incident stated that he determined after completing the investigation to level the charges against Chubb.
He was being held as of this posting with no bail set.
