Report: Man recently released from prison back in custody, found with meth at jail

Gregory Brian Farmer

An Aragon man remains in custody after 911 was called to investigate why he was in a yard on early Sunday evening, and ultimately found himself booked for drug possession.

Police were called out to a Whitman Road address on Sunday evening on a suspicious person call. When they arrived, they found a man later identified as Gregory Brian Farmer, 37, of an Aragon address, sitting in the front yard and “not making any sense and would not identify himself.”

A neighbor came out and told police was was happening, that Farmer had been recently released from prison and had issues.

When police contacted 911 to find out more about Farmer, he was found to have a warrant out for his arrest in Floyd County. Police took him into custody without any incident and took him to the Polk County Jail.

Staff at the jail made a discovery while searching farmer: suspected methamphetamine.

While searching his person, they found a small baggy of the drug in a pants pocket, and handed it over to Polk County Police.

Farmer remained in custody as of this posting on a $5,000 bond for the charge of possession of methamphetamine, and for the Floyd County warrant.
