A man who had just pulled into the parking lot of a Cedartown-area store found himself in trouble after officers with prior knowledge of him found he had a warrant out for his arrest, and was found with a single rock of cocaine in his car, per Polk County Police reports.
Officers arrested Jeffrey Scott Youngblood, 55, of 2585 Rome Highway, Cedartown, around 9 p.m. on Monday, March 7, on felony charges of possession of cocaine and a probation violation warrant when they were out on patrol and spotted Youngblood entering a store at East Ellawood Avenue and Main Street in Cedartown.
The report stated that they got him cuffed quickly, got confirmation of the warrant from 911, and then asked for permission to search his truck.
Once inside, officers began to look around and police found a “small while rock that appeared to be cocaine in between the visor on the driver’s side, where Youngblood had just been.
A field test yielded a positive test for cocaine, and when Youngblood was asked about the cocaine found inside his truck, his response was “OK,” per the report.
Police took him into custody without further incident.
Youngblood remained in the Polk County Jail with no bail set as of this posting.
