REPORT: Man stopped walking on wrong side of road had stolen gun, meth

A Rockmart man remained in jail after being arrested on Saturday afternoon when stopped for not walking on the sidewalk or shoulder, and was ultimately jailed for possession of drugs and a stolen gun from Tennessee, according to Polk County Police reports.

Houston Cheyenne Pointer, 25, of a Rockmart address, was stopped by PCPD on Saturday afternoon around 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Long Avenue and Pearl Street when he was spotted walking on the wrong side of the roadway.

Per the short report, police arrested him “for the violations mentioned on the front page of this incident report.”

Deeper within the report, police noted that Pointer was found with a suspected bag of methamphetamine, a glass smoking device, a single 9mm round, and a stolen Deringer .22 caliber pistol that was listed as missing from Knoxville, Tennessee.

Pointer remained in custody on the felony charges of theft by bringing stolen property into state and possession of methamphetamine. He also faces the misdemeanor charge for pedestrian must walk on sidewalk/shoulder.
