REPORT: Man tased, jailed by PCPD in Saturday morning incident

Chad Andrew Chandler

Polk County Police arrested an Aragon man over the weekend, and per the report officers had to use a taser on him.

Reports did not immediately indicate why Chad Andrew Chandler, 39, of an Aragon address, was tased, but it was after police made initial contact with him behind a convenience store in Rockmart between 7 and 7:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, January 20.

Per the report, police had been on patrol and returned to the store upon spotting a tricycle and a suspect. When officers returned, they found “two males standing in the dark alleyway” and then began to speak to them.

All the explanation offered so far for the rest of the incident included the following: “Further investigation was conducted which resulted in a Taser deployment and one arrest.”

Police took Chandler into custody on charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor charges of two counts of obstructing law enforcement officers, along with pedestrian must not dart out in traffic, possession and use of drug-related objects and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

He remained in custody on a $10,000 bond as of this posting.

The second individual who police encountered over the weekend was not charged, per the report.
