A man was booked and later released after an argument ended with a cup of Sweet Tea thrown, according to Polk County Police reports.

Darrell Shane Dutton, 40, of a Cedartown address, was booked into custody on Sunday night, February 9 by the Polk County Police after officers were called out to a Sixth Street apartment on a domestic dispute.

Per the report, Dutton was sitting outside and waiting for officers when they arrived, and was cooperative during the incident.

Police interviewed the victim involved in the incident, and were told that Dutton had thrown an Atlanta Braves cup of Sweet Tea onto them and a pack of diapers during an argument about finances that got heated.

The victim wasn’t harmed, but felt threatened for their safety after having the cup thrown and tea spilled everywhere. Dutton additionally was reported to have admitting to throwing the sweet tea during the argument.

Dutton remained in custody as of the time of this posting on a $2,000 bond on misdemeanor charges of simple assault and simple battery under the family violence act.
