
Polk County Police charged a man who tried to come home, but when denied he got angry enough to damage a television according to reports.
Officers charged James Matthew Crawford, 31, of a Cedartown address on Thursday evening, January 2, after 911 was called about the complaint.
The victim told officers that Crawford attempted to return home amid a divorce proceeding, and when told no when asking for a place to stay was alleged to have struck the victim.
He also punched the television, breaking it before fleeing from the residence.
PCPD sought warrants for Crawford’s arrest, and he was picked up around 9:30 p.m. by officers on charges of criminal trespass and simple battery under the family violence act.
Crawford was later released on a $3,500 bond.
