Polk County Police arrested two men on drug and other charges after they came to serve a warrant on a first relative, and once in custody took another away with them as well on warrants as well.
Police jailed Gary Lee Clackum, 52, and Michael Dean Clackum, 38, both of 861 Akes Station Road when they found them at home on Sunday, March 6 around 3:30 a.m. seeking to serve an arrest warrant on Gary Clackum, and when he came to the door and was informed of why officers were at the house, he attempted to pass a hat he was wearing off to a relative.
Officers were able to intercept the passed hat, and when they did found a bag of suspected methamphetamine inside.
Once in custody, the reporting officer noted that “I then observed a male laying down on the floor of the living room” and asked who it was, and when he learned that it was Michael Clackum, realized he had multiple arrest warrants out for him as well and he was taken into custody as well.
Both were transported to jail without further incident, where both remained in custody.
Gary Clackum is being held with bond denied on a felony bench warrant, a bond drop charge, and two felonies for possession of methamphetamine and tampering with evidence.
Michael Clackum is being held on a $3,000 bond for his warrants, which were listed by the Polk County Jail as charges of felony criminal damage to property in the first degree and a theft by taking charge, which was listed as a misdemeanor.
