Update:

Georgia State Patrol is reporting that a collision between a pickup truck and a semi truck on Highway 101 in the Aragon area took the life of one driver and injured the second, according to a release from the agency.

Troopers this morning were dispatched to investigate the collision just before 8 a.m. on Highway 101 just under a half mile south of Black Rock Road. Per their report, the driver of a 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck was heading north on Highway 101 when according to several witnesses he swerved in front of a 2021 Peterbilt semi and struck the driver’s side front.

GSP at this time has still not released the name of the driver, but did indicate it was a male behind the wheel of both vehicles.

The driver of the semi did sustain minor injuries to his right leg in the incident.

Officials have not yet released the name of a victim who died in a wreck this morning on Highway 101.

A two car wreck took the life of a driver from outside of the county around 8 a.m. this morning north of Aragon between Black Rock Road and Prospect Road, according to local officials with knowledge of the situation.

Georgia State Patrol has been contacted for additional details about the incident since they are the responsible agency.

No names have been released yet pending further notification via GSP to the media.
