A pair who were found with drugs inside of a pickup truck in a church parking lot late at night on June 18 remained in the Polk County Jail following their arrest by the Polk County Police, according to a report from law enforcement.
Alexis Diego Carmona, 22, of 439 Jule Peek Ave., Cedartown, and Jada Alexis McCarver, 21, of 409 Thompson St., Cedartown, were both taken into custody on June 18 just before midnight Saturday after an officer on patrol came upon the pair in a pickup truck parked at New Hope Fellowship Church on Blanche Road near Oakwood Drive in Cedartown.
When police went to investigate, the truck tried to leave but was pulled over not far from the church. Carmona, who was driving at the time, told police he was having trouble with his pickup and after the reporting officer cited the smell of marijuana coming from the truck, he asked if the par had any drugs in the vehicle or on their person.
Carmona immediately handed over a shaving kit-style bag that contained two bags of marijuana, two digital scales, a vape pen for THC oil and another cartridge, a Fruity Pebbles THC cereal bar and a “Polk-A-Dot Magic Mushroom Chocolate Bar” which contained mushrooms taken as a psychedelic.
McCarver was also found with marijuana in her purse and a Fruity Pebbles THC cereal bar.
Both were taken to jail without further incident and Carmona’s family was allowed to come and take his truck without it being towed.
Carmona remained in jail as of this posting on a $7,000 bond on felony charges of possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance, Purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution or sale of marijuana, and misdemeanor possession and use of drug-related objects.
McCarver remained in jail with a $6,000 bond on misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana less than an ounce, and felony possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance.
