REPORT: Pair staying in building jailed on warrants, drug charges

Cedartown Police went looking for a suspect with warrants for their arrest, and ended up picking up two on drug charges on Monday, according to reports.

Jose Guadalupe Segura, 22, of a Cedartown address and Sheena Brooke LaRoche, 40, listed as homeless, were both taken into custody on warrants and drug charges after police showed up to find the pair who were wanted on several charges in the early morning hours of Monday, January 27, 2025.

Per the report, when they arrived in a rear building on the property they began to knock, heard the pair inside but they refused to come out. Segura’s father eventually showed up and talked his son into coming out.

Segura was taken into custody without incident.

While they took Segura into custody, police went inside the building and found her “hiding in the back of the building.” The found the pair had a bag of what was suspected to be drugs, a glass pipe and the room smelled like marijuana was just smoked.

Cedartown Police took both to the Polk County Jail for booking.

LaRoche was booked on warrants including charges of felony first degree burglary; willfully fail to report abuse of disabled adult/elder person per pursuant to 30-5-4; three counts of obstruction of law enforcement officer; two counts of misdemeanor theft by taking; and a failure to appear charge along with new charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession and use of drug related objects. Her bond was denied.

She was previously arrested just a month ago in December for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Segura only faced drug charges for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession and use of drug-related objects. His bond was set at $6,000.

Both remained in jail as of this posting.
