A Powder Springs man remained in the Polk County Jail with no bond set on felony and misdemeanor charges after a domestic altercation that occurred in the parking lot of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office ended with his arrest.

Joshua Matthew Williams Nix, 40, of 5322 Barlow Pass, Powder Springs, remains in custody on Tuesday after his arrest on Monday by Sheriff’s deputies.

Nix first came to the attention of Sheriff’s Office staff when he began to scream for help from outside the lobby of the PCSO, claiming he and his children were in danger from another on the scene. That individual claimed that she was almost run over by Nix after an argument.

Police allowed the individual and children to leave together, and Nix was taken into custody after they pulled off from the parking lot.

A search of his vehicle turned up other charges he now faces, per the report. Deputies found THC Oil, a vape pen, “a medical syringe with a thick brown liquid,” and found another container labeled “King Harvest Restore 3x” claimed to have levels of THC and CBD within.

Police also found five pills that were cut up and unlabeled, and an H&K Model UP9SK 9mm handgun with a red dot sight and holster.
