Report: PCPD tases man who tried to flee from officers in Aragon

An Aragon man remains in jail on a pair of misdemeanor charges after he tried to flee from police and ended up being tased, according to Polk County Police reports.

Aragon Police first stopped Donald James Taschereau, 38, of an Aragon address, after he was reported for trespassing around 10:30 p.m. Police tried to speak to Taschereau and he tried to walk away from both Aragon Police and Polk County Police officers at the scene on Thursday night.

Per the report, they ordered Taschereau to stop at least twice before a PCPD officer pulled his taser and hit him with one of the prongs.

Taschereau was taken into custody without further incident, per the report. AdventHealth Redmond EMS were called to the scene to check him out to be taken to jail. He was transported to the Sheriff’s Office and jail staff took him in without further incident as well.

This was Taschereau’s second time in jail this month. He was previously charged by Aragon Municipal Court for obstruction and disorderly conduct and held for seven days on a $2,150 bond.

Taschereau remained in custody on a misdemeanor criminal trespass and resisting a police officer charges. He is being held on a $1,900 bond as of this posting.
