
A Rockmart man remained in jail on multiple charges including drug possession after he fled from a traffic stop in Cedartown early Saturday morning, according to reports.
An officer on patrol early Saturday morning, March 4, spotted a 2000 Ford Taurus ahead of them on patrol on South Main Street in Cedartown when the driver turned suddenly and stopped against the curb in the 100 block of Irwin Street.
Per the report, before the officer could even step out of the car to conduct a traffic stop for an expired registration, Wesley Stephen Graham, 35, of a Rockmart address, jumped out of the car and ran off.
Graham ran through a yard toward Olive Street when he fell down in wooded area and was ultimately detained by officers.
While being searched, Graham was found with a bag of methamphetamine that weighed less than an ounce.
He was booked into the jail where he remained without bond set on felony charges for possession of methamphetamine, a probation violation charge and a trio of failure to appear warrants. He was additionally facing charges for obstructing law enforcement officers and tag/registration requirements.
