A man who was reported to have sexually assaulted a woman in Rockmart was found on Tuesday by the Rockmart Police, per a brief release on the incident made available this afternoon.

Jose Angel Garcia, 46, listed out of a Smyrna address, was booked into custody at the Polk County Jail on April 9 on multiple charges. He remains in custody with his bond not set on charges filed by the Rockmart Police Department over the weekend that include felonies for rape, sodomy and aggravated sexual battery along with misdemeanors for sexual battery, open container violation, and driving while license suspended or revoked.

Per officers involved in the case, the report came into Rockmart Police on Saturday, April 6 of the incident and an investigation got underway.

Rockmart Police caught up with Garcia during at a residence on Tuesday, and he went with officers willingly for questioning. After an interview with Rockmart Police detectives, they secured warrants for his arrest on the further felony and misdemeanor charges.

He remains in custody and local officials have sent his information off to determine his immigration status.
