A Tallahassee man was jailed on several misdemeanor charges after police reported that he had tried to jump out in front of traffic near the intersection of Highway 278 and Highway 113 near Yorkville, according to Polk County Police.
Officers ultimately arrested Mychal Eugene Poole, 32, of a Tallahassee, Florida, address on Monday night just before midnight July 4 after multiple calls came into both Polk County 911 and Paulding County 911 about the man.
Police found Poole with a trio of Paulding deputies and a white Tesla with two people inside near the intersection of Yorkville Highway and 278 within Polk County. Per the report, an ambulance was dispatched to check out Poole, who was almost struck by the pair in the car.
The report stated that Poole – dressed in black clothing – began having issues first with EMS, then with officers after he became uncooperative and began making no sense when talking to police.
Since he wasn’t cooperating with police at all, they had no idea who Poole was until he could be identified through national crime databases. It took facial recognition for officers to come up with a name, and taking fingerprints as well to confirm that police had Poole in custody.
He remained in jail on a $2,400 bond on misdemeanor charges of public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and obstructing law enforcement officers.
