Report: Two jailed in gas station traffic stop on meth charges

A pair remain in the Polk County Jail after an early morning traffic stop ended with their arrest when the driver agreed to allow officers to search the car and methamphetamine was found within, according to Polk County Police reports.

Cassie Lynn Conn, 43, of 319 Prior St. W., Cedartown, and Kenneth Lee Walker, 48, of 112 1/2 N. 2nd St., Cedartown, were both taken into custody on Thursday morning, February 24, after a 2 a.m. traffic stop at the Gulf gas station on South Main Street in Cedartown.

Per the Polk County Police report, Conn was weaving over the center line when they were traveling behind her, and when she and Walker pulled into the gas station in her red Toyota Corolla police conducted the stop.

The pair cooperated with officers, and when asked if the vehicle could be searched Conn allowed officers to do so and stated that “nothing should be in there” as officers began to look around inside.

However, reports stated that officers first found a glass pipe in the center console, then located a bag of meth in a fanny pack in the floor board on the passenger side, and another in a storage compartment under the steering wheel.

Conn said the fanny pack was hers, but did not claim ownership of the meth found inside. Neither claimed ownership of the pipe or any of the meth found in the car.

Both were taken into custody and taken to the Polk County Jail for booking, and the car was towed.

Conn was charged with felonies for possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, and a misdemeanor for failure to maintain lane. She remained in jail as of this posting with a $16,500 bond set for her release.

Walker also remained in jail on felony charges possession of methamphetamine and possession of tools for the commission of a crime. His bond was set at $5,000.
