A victim told police that two women were responsible for her injuries, took her clothes and her disability check after “beating all night” in Rockmart, according to Polk County Police.
Sabrina Kay Turner, 47, and Takeyolow Keyglon Turner, 45, were both charged with misdemeanor battery under the family violence act after police heard allegations first from AdventHealth Redmond EMS workers, then from the victim themselves following the Tuesday, December 17 incident.
Per the report, both Sabrina and Takeyolow Turner are married and were staying with the victim, and had struck her with a belt and crutch, forcing her to stay in a wheelchair while they “beat her all night,” the report stated. The victim also accused the wives of taking her clothes and phone as well.
When EMS came to help prior to police involvement, they noted that injuries were found on her right temple and left shin. They also had to change her out of torn clothing before they transported her for treatment.
PCPD went back to where the incident occurred on Atlanta Highway and found the wives still there, and took them into custody without incident. Per the report, Takeyolow Turner claimed the victim fell previously, and those injuries were not from their actions. Sabrina Turner did not wish to speak to officers at all about the incident.
Both remained in custody at the Polk County Jail without bond set as of this posting.
