A Lindale woman was found with drugs and knives and a Cedartown man was booked on a warrant after an incident at the Waffle House in Rockmart ended with the two in handcuffs, per a Rockmart Police report.
Brandie Lee Money, 39, of 2530 Old Cedartown Hwy., Lindale, and John Lamar Langston, 40, of 222 Booger Hollow Road, Cedartown, were both booked into the Polk County Jail early Thursday morning after Money was reported by Waffle House staff to have spent quite a long time in the bathroom – upwards of 40 minutes – and that when she left, employees found syringes inside of the trash can.
The employees provided a description of Money, and officers came to the Waffle House and found her and Langston together. Police questioned why she was in the bathroom for so long, and Money initially explained to officers that she and Langston had spent the day out on the lake, and she was using the restroom to change clothes and clean up.
Officers ran both of their names through state and national databases via 911 for additional information, and Langston came back with a warrant for his arrest. Police did not specify what the warrant was for, and information was not immediately available on the Polk County Sheriff’s Office’s inmate database online.
Once Langston was in custody, police got consent from Money to search her belongings. They found two knives – one with a three inch blade, the other a nine inch blade – a spoon with suspected drug residue on it, and methamphetamine. At this point, Money was taken into custody and police asked her where the rest of her drugs were hidden. She initially denied having anything else on her.
Money eventually told officers after being warned about the guard line rule that she was holding onto drugs on her person. She revealed that she was hiding syringes inside of her bra, and police noted that three syringes were found wrapped in a bandana. Two of those were already pre-filled with what Money related to police was methamphetamine.
Waffle House staff pointed officers to the other four syringes that were found in the bathroom, and they were collected.
Police were also required to call for the help of Animal Control to turn over Money’s dog, which she had with her at the time of the incident as well.
Both Money and Langston remained in custody as of this posting with no bond set after being booked on Thursday morning.
Langston remains in custody on the single warrant.
Money was charged with felonies for possession of methamphetamine, and two counts of possession of firearm or knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies. She was also being held on misdemeanors for three counts of possession and use of drug-related objects, and two counts of public drunkenness.
