Polk County Police took a woman into custody late Saturday night on a misdemeanor charge after police found a pipe in her car during a traffic stop for swerving, and later marijuana in her shoe.
Maria Delaluz Carrasco, 46, of a Cedartown address, was booked into the Polk County Jail early Sunday morning, July 7, after she was pulled over around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night on Friendship Road near the intersection with Highway 100 North.
Per the report, police saw Carrasco swerving in a Ford F-250 pickup in the Mountain Home Road area, and decided to stop her at Friendship Road to ensure she wasn’t under the influence.
Officers got permission to search her vehicle and possessions during the stop and initially found a glass pipe in a book bag, and later when a female officer conducted a search of her person found marijuana in her shoe.
As the reporting officer was heading toward the Polk County Jail with Carrasco, he dropped the pipe on the pavement and broke it.
PCPD charged Carrasco with a misdemeanor for prohibited items. She was later released on a $500 bond.
