Report: Woman found with syringes, blunt stuffed in shorts during traffic stop

Ausha Lane Tucker

A woman “spontaneously admitted” she might have more marijuana and other drugs than what she initially presented to police during a search conducted during a traffic stop this past Friday, according to Polk County Police reports.

Officers arrested Ausha Lane Tucker, 19, of 164 McDowell Road, Cedartown, on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana after she was arrested during the traffic stop that began around 10:30 p.m.

Police initially stopped a Ford Explorer on Atlanta Highway in the Rockmart area for having no license plate, pulling the driver and Tucker over near the area convenience center. Reports stated that the driver produced a bill of sale and the reporting officer was about to write a warning when he “could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.”

The officer asked whether they had any drugs on them, and the driver told police he didn’t but Tucker admitted that she might have a roach “but was unsure where it was.” She showed the officer and then opened a small metal tube that had a small plastic bag with suspected marijuana inside.

Police requested help from Rockmart Police for a further search with a female officer, and then Tucker was reported to have “made a spontaenous statement that she may have more marijuana or other drugs in her bag.”

The Rockmart officer arrived on scene and further searched Tucker, locating an eyeglasses case containing syringes with suspected methamphetamine, along with a blunt in Tucker’s shorts. Additional marijuana was found in a small zip purse, along with another bag suspected to also be methamphetamine.

She was taken into custody for the drug possession, and Tucker remained in the Polk County Jail following her Friday arrest on felony and misdemeanor drug charges on a $6,000 bond.

The report did not include any additional information about the driver of the Ford Explorer.

Tucker was previously reported upon following an arrest in April involving the theft of a sweatshirt from a Polk County Police officer who gave her a ride home.
