A woman who was found with drugs and stolen goods from the Buchanan Highway Dollar General remained in jail awaiting bond on multiple charges from the Polk County Police over the weekend.
PCPD reported the arrest of Christy Dawn Bellflower, 39, of a Buchanan address, after 911 got several calls about her behavior at a Dollar General on Buchanan Highway on Saturday afternoon, March 8, just after 4 p.m.
Bellflower was already speaking to an off-duty officer who told PCPD that she had been at the register “and fell asleep and almost fell over.” The off-duty officer also noted she admitted to having taken more Xanax than she normally does.
Bellflower cooperated with police when asked for her ID, but then dropped a clear plastic bag she had under her arm, which the off-duty officer handed over.
Inside the bag, police described a “plethora of drugs and drug paraphernalia inside.”
Bellflower was immediately taken into custody, and it was also learned she had warrants for her arrest as well.
When a search of the bag was completed and catalogued, police ended up finding fentanyl, methamphetamine, and a single Xanax pill. An additional search of her purse turned up two more bags of methamphetamine, plus items she took from Dollar General.
Those included chocolate syrup, frozen burritos, a USB C cable, a sticker, a dog bone, grape juice and a frozen loaded nacho chimichanga.
She was charged by Polk County Police with felonies for two counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, two counts of possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, and misdemeanors for possession and use of drug-related objects and theft by shoplifting.
Bellflower remained in custody awaiting bond to be set as of this posting.
