REPORT: Woman stopped by RPD for tag light violation, found with meth

Rockmart Police arrested a woman on Saturday evening after she was found with methamphetamine in her car during a traffic stop for a busted tag light, according to a report filed over the weekend.

Police arrested Paige Shaundrea Orcutt, 33, of Rockmart area address on February 25 around 9 p.m. after she was found to have drugs in her car during the traffic stop. Per the report, officers spotted Orcutt with the tag light not functioning at the intersection of Piedmont Avenue and Highway 278, and pulled her over at the intersection of Highway 278 and Prospect Road.

Officers were ready to give Orcutt a warning and she had consented to a search of her vehicle until police went looking through her car. They found a black plastic bag in the trunk, and when they delved further inside they found a bag containing what was reported as methamphetamine, and a pipe.

She was taken into custody without further incident, and booked into the Polk County Jail with a felony for possession of methamphetamine, and a misdemeanor for possession and use of drug-related objects.

Orcutt remained in custody as of this posting on a $6,000 bond.
