An Aragon woman was jailed last week after she was involved in an incident in Aragon where she threatened to kill her neighbors, then fought with officers during her arrest.
The Aragon Police Department arrested Heidi Wynne Langford, 46, of an Aragon address on Friday, February 16 on three counts of felony terroristic threats and acts, obstructing law enforcement officers, and misdemeanor charges of two counts of simple battery against police officer/law enforcement dog/corrections or detention officer and a disorderly conduct charge. She was in custody at the Polk County Jail for five days before being released on a $22,000 bond.
According to Aragon Police reports, officers were initially called out to deal with threats made against a juvenile who was riding a moped near Langford’s residence in front of witnesses and other children. When police arrived to deal with the incident, they found Langford intoxicated, irate and unwilling to cooperate with officers and claimed “she couldn’t go to jail.”
She initially did calm down, but that didn’t last.
As officers were still on the scene, Langford began to shout and threaten another set of neighbors and this time began to head toward neighbors with a pencil in her hand in such a way she might use it as a weapon. Police threatened to tase her if she didn’t put the pencil down and head back inside.
She did put the pencil down after several threats of being tased, and officers took her into custody after but not without a fight. Langford was alleged to have resisted being handcuffed, went limp and refused to move when being carried to the patrol car, and then kicked officers and attempted to kick out windows on the vehicle.
Langford continued the behavior on the way to jail where she remained for the five days before her bond was posted.
No major injuries were reported by officers during the incident.
