Renovations are complete and the move is done, and now a building that sat for several years without an occupant now has a thriving business within its walls once again.

Helen Riley, owner of Rockin Rooster and Happy Hen in Rockmart, just completed her move to 404 East Elm Street after opening her business in 2019 on North Piedmont Avenue across from Family Dollar.

She announced earlier this summer her plans to move into the store’s new home, which has gotten a lot of work completed in the past weeks on the interior and exterior.

“I’m excited to be in a new home and look forward to welcoming customers in to see how incredible all the work we’ve done here on East Elm Street looks,” she said.

On Tuesday, she opened the doors of the new Rockin Rooster and Happy Hen for a soft opening that continues through Thursday. A grand opening is planned for this coming Friday, Sept. 3, and will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony for those who want to participate starting at 10 a.m.

Offering a variety of gift items for any members of the family, Rockin Rooster and Happy Hen has 20 vendors locally to make items for sale at the shop from in and around Polk County.

Those who are regular customers will note that store cat and mascot Bug has made the move to East Elm Street, and has settled in to greet customers in a new spot he has already claimed as his own.

Check back for more updates from Rockin Rooster and Happy Hen’s opening week following Friday’s Grand Opening.
