Santa Claus is coming to town on Dec. 3
Here comes the holiday season once again, and the City of Rockmart is getting ready to roll out the red carpet for the big man at the North Pole to make a visit before his midnight ride on Christmas Eve 2024.
Circle the date of December 3 on the calendar this year and set aside some time around 6 p.m. as the City of Rockmart brings together local organizations, teams, bands, first responders and more for the 2024 Christmas Parade.

“Let there be Christmas” will be the theme for this year’s parade, and hopes from organizers are that some creative ideas will be generated for floats celebrating the holidays and the spirit of the season.
As it has in the past, the Rockmart Fire Department will be escorting Santa into downtown on South Marble Street to light the Christmas Tree in front of the Rockmart History Museum at the tail end of the parade.
Those who want to get a good spot for the tree lighting should make plans for where to sit ahead of time.
Local businesses and restaurants are expected to remain open later for the holiday event as well.
