A challenger has entered the race for the 2021 Election in a Rockmart City Council race.
On Tuesday, Rockmart’s Will Dover entered the race to face off against incumbent Joe Henderson in Ward 1, according to Elections Director Brande Coggins.
Incumbents Lucile Harris, Mike Bradley and Henderson all qualified on Monday to get on the November ballot to keep their seats on the Rockmart City Council for another four years.
Along with the trio, Monday saw Aragon Council member Daniel Johnson qualify to keep his seat. His seat along with soon-to-resign council member Buddy Tanner are up for the Aragon city elections this year at this time. Tanner’s time on the council will come to an end on August 31.
The Cedartown Commission’s trio of incumbents are also on the ballot for city elections this year, with Commissioners Matt Foster, Sam Branch and Jessica Payton all up for re-election this year.
