Ahead of the 2021 Homecoming game at Rockmart High School – which ended in a blowout victory over Coahulla Creek to open region play – spent a moment before the game to remember a somber moment in American history.

A moment of silence was held for the victims of the September 11, 2001 attack before the band played the National Anthem with members of the American Legion marching onto the field with the stars and stripes.

More Sept. 11 tributes are expected throughout the day, including at the Polk County Fair tonight and Rockmart’s annual Rodeo at Haney Arena.
